MY PRESENCE WILL GO WITH YOU

MY PRESENCE WILL GO WITH YOU

Exodus 33:14-15, Exodus 3:12

And He said, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” Then he said to Him, “If Your Presence does not go with us, do not bring us up from here. Exodus 33:14-15

So, He said, I will certainly be with you. And this shall be a sign to you that I have sent you: When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you shall serve God on this mountain. Exodus 3:12

Moses was a man who saw it all. He escaped death as a baby (Exodus 2:3), he was raised as a prince in Pharaoh’s palace with everything at his call and beckon (Exodus 2:10), he lived as a fugitive in the wilderness (Median) for forty years, he encountered God and was assigned by God to lead the Israelites to the promised land. Through him, God brought signs and wonders to Egypt. He experienced human power as a prince and God’s power as a priest. He spoke with God like a friend, in anger dropped the tablet on which he wrote the ten commandments. His life was characterized as a vulnerable baby, prince, fugitive, and a leader of a nation. In all of these experiences, something stood out for Moses: the presence of God. He understood that everything will fade out with time except the presence of God.

Realizing the enormity of the challenges in front of Him and the children of Israel as they depart Egypt for the promised land, he desperately cried to God for only one thing: His presence.

The presence of God is the essence of His glory. To the children of Israel in the wilderness, it came as the pillar of fire at night and the pillar of cloud during the day. The presence of God is the token of His power that disempowers the power of darkness. This was seen when the ark of the covenant was brought by the Philistines into the house of dragon their idol, though an inanimate object, it fell before the ark of the covenant (1 Samuel 5:2-3) because, at the time, the ark of the covenant was the essence of the presence of God. My brothers and sisters, whatever you desire for the year 2021, let it not be at the expense of God’s presence because whatever you get at the expense of His presence will curse your blessing.

Manifestations of His presence

Illumination and progress

And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of cloud to lead the way, and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so as to go by day and night. He did not take away the pillar of cloud by day or the pillar of fire by night from before the people. Exodus 13:21-22

So, it came between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel. Thus, it was a cloud and darkness to the one, and it gave light by night to the other, so that the one did not come near the other all that night. Exodus 14:20

After Pharaoh allowed the Israelites to leave Egypt, he had a change of heart and pursued them with an intention of returning them to slavery in Egypt. But God’s presence separated the children of Israel from the Egyptians. The presence of God came as a pillar of cloud and a pillar of fire. While the fire illuminated the path of God’s children at night, it was darkness to the Egyptians. As you desire and carry His presence in the year 2021, the Lord will illuminate your path and darken the path of the enemy. As they continue to stumble in darkness, you and your household will be making progress in Jesus’ name.

Elevation

The Lord was with Joseph, and he was a successful man, and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian. And his master saw that the Lord was with him and that the Lord made all he did to prosper in his hand. So Joseph found favor in his sight and served him. Then he made him overseer of his house, and all that he had he put under his authority.  So it was, from the time that he had made him overseer of his house and all that he had, that the Lord blessed the Egyptian’s house for Joseph’s sake; and the blessing of the Lord was on all that he had in the house and in the field.  Thus, he left all that he had in Joseph’s hand, and he did not know what he had except for the bread which he ate. Genesis 39:2-6

Joseph was consigned to a lowly status in his master’s house in Egypt. But, as a carrier of God’s presence, what society thinks about you is irrelevant.  All that Joseph needed to make a difference in his life was the presence of God. The scriptures pointed out that “the Lord was with Joseph”. Because of God’s presence, Joseph was a successful man, everything he did prospered, he found favor with his master, his master saw that the Lord was with him and Joseph became the overseer of his master’s house. In any environment of your endeavour where the enemy has purposed to consign you to a lowly status, as you desire and carry the presence of God, He will elevate beyond your dreams and limitations. The Lord’s presence will catapult you to greater heights in Jesus’ Name.

Wisdom

There is a man in your kingdom in whom is the Spirit of the Holy God. And in the days of your father, light and understanding and wisdom, like the wisdom of the gods, were found in him; and King Nebuchadnezzar your father—your father the king—made him chief of the magicians, astrologers, Chaldeans, and soothsayers… I have heard of you, that the Spirit of God is in you, and that light and understanding and excellent wisdom are found in you. Daniel 5:11, 14

Wisdom is the application of Knowledge and when you know what others don’t know, you will have an advantage over them. When you know what your enemies don’t know, you will become unreachable to them. In Daniel’s life, God’s presence manifested in the form of the spirit of revelation. God revealed to Daniel what the king and his wise men do not know and thereby set him above them all.  The scripture says that secret things belong to the Lord our God (Deuteronomy 29:29). Wisdom helps us to know how to pray and what to pray. It helps us to make decisions that won’t come back to hurt us. Wisdom makes us see what others don’t see and positions us for progress. As we desire and carry God’s presence, He will reveal secret things to us and make our journey smooth and glorious. We will reach our promised land without struggles in Jesus’ name.

Boldness

Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men, they marveled. And they realized that they had been with Jesus. Acts 4:23.

Teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen. Matthew 28:20

To the Apostles, God manifested His presence on the Pentecost by pouring out His Holy Spirit. Prior to this time Peter and his colleagues were confused, timid, and didn’t know what to do. After Jesus’ ascension, they lost focus and went back to the trade-fishing (John 21:3). But when God’s presence came down in the form of the Holy Spirit, they all became new men. Carrying the presence of God, Peter stood before those he was afraid of before and spoke boldly to them. Whatever has been giving you a push back in your life, as you desire and carry the presence of God in 2021 and beyond, you will be bold to stand before your Goliath and take him down in Jesus’ name. No power will be able to stand before you.

Victory and Honour

No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you. Joshua 1:5

God’s presence is the only thing that can guarantee victory and honour. When Joshua was appointed to succeed Moses, he felt inadequate because of the enormity of the responsibility he was to carry. God knew this and kept assuring Joshua of His presence. When Joshua arrived at Gilgal, God assured him and the children of Israel that the reproach of Egypt had been taken away (Joshua 5:9). With God’s presence, your victory is guaranteed in 2021. Any battle that comes against you will be scattered in front of you. The Bible says that they will come against you in one way and they will flee in seven ways. This promise is for those who carry His presence. At His presence fear disappears and we are able to press towards His promises.

Brothers and sisters, the mystery behind the efficacious power of His presence is that God’s power cannot cohabit with any other power in a given space. The question is, who or what are you filling your space with? We can only carry God’s presence when we have a relationship with him. In Joshua 1:8, God instructed Joshua to keep the book of the law in his mouth, observe to do according to what is written in it, in other words,  to obey the book and meditate on it day and night in order to guarantee his success. For us to be carriers of His presence in the year 2021 and beyond, God is making the same call to you and me today and when we pay attention and obey, nothing can stop us in the coming years in Jesus’ Name.
